There are many potential uses for a tiny house or cottage set behind a main house (known as an Accessory Dwelling Unit or ADU) including a guest house, spare bedroom, in-law suite, vacation home, rental unit, or to house an aging parent or a child home from college. And with the Tiny House movement spreading like wildfire, we’ve seen how a small cottages can make a wonderful full time home for those looking to reduce costs, maintenance, and have a lighter footprint on the earth. Below are some base plans for cottage designs. Each can be modified in a variety of ways to complement your historic property or meet your individual needs, and we have several more under production. Most cottages price out in the $200- 225 per sf range when complete (including utilities), although this can vary depending on finishes chosen and site location.
